Big Dreams Vs. Being Realistic. Let’s Be Real for a Minute.

Is being Realistic holding you back?
In reference to a conversation I recently had about following your dreams, Someone told me that they weren’t being Negative about their situation, they were being Realistic.
And then it hit me….To me, these two things are one and the same.
Will Smith once said, “Being Realistic is the most commonly traveled road to mediocrity.”
In these times of economic strife and unpredictability, there’s one HUGE, GIGANTIC element that most people are missing to be successful.
BIG DREAMS.
The majority of people out there in the world that we encounter are perfectly content living a life of mediocrity.   Working 40+ hours a week for 40+ years for the same company in order to retire for a few dollars a day.  They choose it, whether they think they do or not.  To me, this is not the way the world and life was intended to be experienced.  I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with these people, that’s just not the way I choose to live.  We’re here for a reason.  And it’s up to each of us to find our purpose in life.  Even if our purpose is to find our purpose, that’s still a far better life worth living than slaving away our peak years.  My time is more valuable than any amount of money or material object.
Money isn’t everything, but if you have enough of it, then everything else in life (ie. The Good Stuff) is easily attained and enjoyed.  Think about it, what would you do if you had no money concerns?  I’m betting you would do what you love to do.  How’s that for a Life Well Lived?
In my world, being successful is defined as being able to do what you want, where you want, when you want, with who you want.  So money isn’t the ultimate goal, it’s just a means to an end.  If we only get one shot at this thing called LIFE, then I want to make it the Absolute Freakin BEST that i can.
In short, It’s extremely important to have BIG DREAMS, create a plan of action to achieve those dreams, and put that plan into ACTION.  Remember, There is No Change if There is No Change.  Here’s a few tips to increase your probability of success.
Be Bold.
Be Unique.
Stand out from your competition.
Be different.
Do what you say you’re going to do.
Answer your phone.
Be authentic.
Genuinely care for others.
Be philanthropic – donate your time and money.
